I've been in startups pretty much my entire career in technical roles, so I do a bit of everything: architecture, code, people, process, whatever needs doing. “See a problem, fix a problem.” The thread through most of my work has been making big-data human-usable, along with a long-running fascination with how best to empower engineering teams.

I write about what I'm experiencing in the new AI world — what's hype and what's real, how to tell the difference, and where it actually matters.

Outside work I'm usually reading, cooking, or working out why something I built is misbehaving.
